Today is the best weather ever. I had to falter in my step multiple times because of the tolerably cool winds. There are just these huge gusts like whoa and I love it and it's not too cold yet and the wind! It's an amazing game just to walk

I played the social game when I was a Freshman too. It started mainly because my roommate was a - are you ready for this? - *theatre major*. Which means that he's pretentious, pompous, arrogant, etc etc, but also thought I inferior because I didn't talk to him that much (because I didn't like him... I mean... we had sex... three times... but hey...), so he made it his mission to turn me into some sort of social party animal. So I went to parties with him and tried to be gregarious and all that nonsense, but it just didn't work. So after months of putting myself through personal turmoil by trying to be something I'm not (this is the moral of today's episode, kids) I told Aaron to fuck off, leave me alone, and started embracing myself as the mysterious, stranger-on-the-other-side-of-the-room that I am. And wouldn't you just know, as soon as I started to feel comfortable with myself I magically became the social butterfly I am today. Or rather, the social butterfly I am from time to time. But yes, I totally say hello to people I know only vaguely and people I don't know at all, unless I'm just not up for it, which is often.

Anyway... um... How about those Mets?

See, I don't know if I'm trying to be something that I'm not. It might be very much what I want, if I knew how to do it properly. Not that I expect to be a social butterfly at any point, because that's not how I do... but I really should learn how to at least act like I'm a friendly person. So that's the goal of my social game. The retirement, if you will.

And the Mets have died, actually. Their coach realized that nobody in the state of New York, let alone other states, would ever cheer for them and so the team was sent to North Korea and declared dead after two years of not returning anyone's calls. Really, Merbie, you should keep up with these things. They are ohsoimportant.

Well now that I think about it, I do have to say that even though Aaron was one of the most enormous assholes I've ever known and forcing myself to be social when I wasn't actually tought me a lot about myself. I ventured into unexplored territory of my personality (which is always fun) and I learned from it. So I guess after that experience I'd definitely recommend at least seeing if part of you is community-oriented.

It's sort of like a straight person having gay sex (or vice versa). You won't *really* know until you try it.

Moral: have sex with a girl before you leave college. It's a prerequisite for graduation. Don't believe me? Ask the dean. His name is Kevin. He's a good lay, by the way.
