Fate/Zero Season 1 FINAL THOUGHTS

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Now for anime rambling, since I practically marathon it on the night before and on Xmas Eve...
This was out of boredom while eating that I finally got to watch Fate/Zero. I've been downloading it but saving it for later. Thank goodness I did! Since I didn't have to wait inbetween all that cliffhanger bwhaha. But now I have to wait until April 2012!! Noo. I remember Kuu drew some fate fanarts waaay before. But I guess I was still not convinced since I heard it was from an eroge. My sister watched it as well, so I remember seeing some scenes on the screen. But the concept was fascinating. And then everyone on twitter was praising Fate/Zero, so finally I got to check it out! And it is so awesome!!!

For someone who didn't watch Fate Stay/Night, its not that hard to follow. Plus finding how they are related to FS/N was fun to wikia. The first episode I think requires rewatching after watching a bunch of episodes afterward, to really get what they were talking about, since I knew nothing about the holy grail war and was lost at the first episode. What I really enjoyed about the series was that the servants were based on actual historical and mythological figures that you can do some research later, if one is curious enough to know more. Also that ending credit, based on actual paintings/statues! When they were finally summoned, i was getting goosebumps. The visual and that soundtrack was amazing.

Another thing i like is its departure from that moeness that the original series seem to have. Most of the Masters are like old men in their 30s and even the servants are mostly males rather than girls with high pitch voices (Rin and Iris's daughter seem to be out of place). The dark tone and really taking its time with its dialogue before going into fighting scenes was a breath of fresh air. I heard Shirou was annoying so we don't have someone like him here haha.

My fav episode was ep 11, “Holy Grail Dialogue”. To have 3 kings of different era have a conversation about their interpretation of being a king was brilliant. I kinda want to see them sitting on big thrones with a roundtable having their discussion haha. And that scene near the end when Rider uses his Noble Phantasm was so epic.

In general I like Rider and his interaction with Waver a lot haha. Ou baka!! If i had a servant, I would want Rider haha. As for the others, Gilgamesh and Lancer are hawt haha. That hair!!! I think hair combed back is becoming my weakness. Saber looks good in her suit TwTb. Interesting how Saber's ideals were looked down by the other kings in that ep11. I don't particularly care about the masters, except Waver. The Servants interacting with each other was pretty interesting, Like Lancer and Saber honor of chivalry and helping each other out, even tho they are supposed to be enemies. Ship ship ship!

After watching F/Z i'm interested in watching FSN. Though I don't think it'll be as intriguing as this one, since it was an eroge haha...But I really like Archer's design!! I also ended up watching Carnival Phantasm, so I'm getting more interested about these characters. Like why does Lancer keep getting abused and killed? XD

That ends my long rambling. Watch it when you get a chance!
