Anime/TV Series Marathons

Jul 23, 2009 01:20

Been doing a bunch of marathoning over this summer.

Early May: Shikabane Hime. 26 episodes.
Nice fluid animation as expected from Gainax. Weird plot. Too fanservicey with all the himes, but still serious and twisted. The comedic parts seems out of place. But Ouri has a nice chara design for a male lead...not so plain looking but so weak XD And Makina was pretty cool tough female lead. Keisei's part were so sad. They make a cute couple.

Late May-June 12: Star Trek TOS. Season 1-3
Brought the geek in me haha... I think I'm more acceptable of episodic plot. I still haven't watched the movies yet!! D:

June 12-June 27: Gintama. Starting at ep 20ish-163 since I watched some before.
Now I'm just waiting for the new episodes. Since there were a lot of depressing stuff happening over the summer, it still managed to make me laugh or smile. Such lovable characters. Even the filler episodes were fun.

July 6-July 20: Eyeshield 21. Starting at ep 7-145.
Same as Gintama, I watched a few episode back when it was still coming out but stopped for whatever reason. The characters here are also so lovable. The way they give each character their own backstory makes them feel important and not some side character. Even I feel sympathetic to the rivals who come back throughout the series. The fillers weren't that bad (unlike Naruto or Bleach) since they use existing characters and develop them more like Juumonji!! Also fun music!!! Back-On. ZZ. TRAX. Fav bands~~ Somehow I'm obsessed about looking for which episodes storyboard artist Katagai Shin and director Masayoshi Nishida worked on...because those were the good episodes and nicely animated ones.

Now I'm starting Soul Eater (7/21). I am actually pretty ahead from where I left off...hoho...

Multitasking is the best!
