Here's some new news:

31st-Jul-2006 06:12 pm - Arrested Development NEWS!

Yes, Arrested Development is still cancelled. But this may be the next best thing: Later this year, all 53 episodes of the show will be syndicated on MSN.com, HDNet and the G4 network. According to a press release I received today, MSN has exclusive online rights to the show for three years, and it plans to stream all of the episodes for free. While the site hasn't announced a launch date, it will happen sometime this year. As for HDNet, the network will begin airing high-definition episodes of Arrested in September. G4 will start airing episodes in October and has acquired the series' basic cable rights for three years. While this isn't as splendid as, say, an Arrested movie, it's a swell start. Of course, it also gives us another time-consuming diversion at work ..

A Rosario afternoon
OK, so I'll be honest: I didn't expect a question-and-answer session with Rosario Dawson to be too informational here. As it turns out, only about half the questions addressed the actress' physical beauty and “awesome” performance in Sin City. Here are some of the other topics she covered:

- Her new comic. Dawson came to San Diego to promote Occult Crimes Taskforce, a new book that features her image and which she helped create. She said she hopes it develops into a franchise with a movie, video game, etc. The first issue is in stores.

- Quentin Tarantino. Dawson starts work on QT's Grind House in September. "It's a gearhead flick," she said of the "double feature," project, which will also include a film by Robert Rodriguez.

- A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints. Dawson said the film has been picked up by a distributor. She appears in it with Robert Downey Jr.

- Geekdom. The actress also revealed that her uncle is a comic-book artist, so she's been reading them for years. She may join Kevin Smith for a panel Saturday, and she said she plans to "geek out" here this weekend, too.

Responded one Con-goer: "From one geek to another, welcome."

The Vanity Fair cover is the latest step in a successful comeback from her cocaine scandal last year.
NEW YORK (July 31) - Kate Moss, wearing long white gloves, leather boots and a white fur hat, graces the cover of Vanity Fair's September issue.

The 32-year-old supermodel also appears in a photo spread inside the magazine, on newsstands Aug. 8. In two photos, she sports an androgynous look - wearing a black hat, jacket and tie - inspired by Marlene Dietrich . In another, she channels Dietrich in the 1934 movie "The Scarlet Empress" by posing in a white gown draped around her waist.

Moss has the top spot among the rich and famous featured in the magazine's international best-dressed list for 2006.

Other sharp dressers include George Clooney , Oprah Winfrey, Renee Zellweger , Gwen Stefani , Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, CNN newsman Anderson Cooper, filmmaker Sofia Coppola, Prince William and Jordan's Queen Rania.

The sexy Vanity Fair cover is the latest move in Moss' career comeback. She entered a drug rehab clinic in Arizona last year after pictures of her allegedly using cocaine were published in a British tabloid. In June, prosecutors said there was insufficient evidence to charge Moss.

Although Moss lost contracts with Chanel, H&M and Gloria Vanderbilt after the photos were published, she has signed new modeling contracts and appeared on several magazine covers, including the December issue of Vanity Fair.

She has maintained her relationship with Burberry, and can be seen in the company's new ad campaign.

congrats Kate and can't wait till arrested development plays online. ciao!
