Snowflake Challenge: Day 1
I love this challenge and I've done it for several years! YAY thank you everyone who is volunteering to run it this year!
Day 1
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
This is always hard for me! In part because I vainly like a lot of what I've written, even if other people don't particularly! But let's see, what shall it be this year?
1. The Bridge Builders - Fandom The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison. Csevet Aisava/Maia Drazhar. PG-13. 3,250 words. A disaster strikes, and Maia is too busy dealing with it to take proper care of himself. His first nohecharei and Csevet try to take the burdens from his shoulders.
If you all don't know, the book The Goblin Emperor is a book I've dearly, dearly loved ever since I first read it a couple years ago now. I revisit it often. Maia touches me in so many ways. Plus there's lovely pronouns, and angst, and just... *hands* I wrote this last year for The Chocolate Box (note to self, finish your sign up soon!). So I'm really very proud of it.
2. Like a Devil's Sick of Sin - Fandom Harry Potter. Vincent Crabbe/Mandy Brocklehurst. PG-13, 750 words. Vincent wakes up to find someone surprising at his bedside.
A prime example of my love of rare pairs. I could have linked a bunch of them but as I just finished watching DH on TV, this one it was!
3. Chiaroscuro - Fandom Harry Potter. Severus Snape/Luna Lovegood. PG-13, 2900 words. Once upon a time, there was a woman who wasn’t like other women. She saw the world differently. But her world was full of darkness, and she longed to bring the light back. The portrait of Severus Snape promises to show her how.
This is very differently, stylistically speaking, than a lot of my work, but I really loved it for that.
4. I Am Your Child - Fandom Star Trek (Reboot). Mostly gen featuring Winona and Jim Kirk. PG-13, 7150 words. Jim Kirk’s relationship with his mother changes as he ages.
And a final one that isn't HP. This fic wrote itself in about a day and a half, honestly. One of the few that ever did that of a great length. I really enjoyed writing it.
I would love if you all would take a look at any of my other stuff, though, and see if it's to your tastes.
