Skipping Day 13 for now, because I don't have time to run down links.
Day 14
In your own space, share your love for something fannish: a trope, cliché, kink, motif, theme, format, or fandom.
Oh goodness, there's so much I love in this vein. Some of the tropes I love:
~ My absolute favorite must be, I think, two people connecting over a hobby or a love of something else. I loved those old fics where SS and HG connected over music, for instance, even if I can't find those fics anymore. But I like other hobbies/passions too, connecting over animals, or something lesser known. I have several ideas for exploring this sometime.
~ I admit I'm a sucker for Marriage Law fics. Good marriage law fics.
~ Friends to lovers. Um. Gosh, what else. Outside forces bringing people together and them finding that they have things in common.
Honestly, I love me a good romance. I like my happy endings. Of course, I don't mind occasionally having my heart ripped from my chest either. I used to be good at that.I like a relationship where people communicate. I suppose that's a kink in and of itself since most fics don't do that.
Kink-wise? Hmm. Frantic need, half clothed sex, frottage, etc. It really depends on the fic. I'm not heavy on the kink, tbh. Some of the harder stuff makes me shy away. I guess I'm really rather vanilla, when all is said and done.
Plot -- I don't know if you'd call it a kink or a motif or what, but I really like there to be a plot or at least a tangible, believable reason that a couple is together. Make it real.
HP will always be my home fandom, no matter what else I branch into.
