Post the Bridge Arc, which is technically possible and just barely keeps this from being AU. So technically this is a death-fic, somewhat cynical, but mostly of the romantic variety. Halloweenish-romantic, I think.

Oh damn, this is fabulous. I love "He's not that young." Oh Haku, you and Zabuza just wanted to go to the same place! (That piece of dialogue still kills me everytime.) Wonderful, morose fic!

I love this silly pairing to pieces--at times, I really wish Kishimoto would've given more screen time or something, or more flashbacks, because they rocked. They were solid.

And...OT, but the p0rntober thing's over now, isn't it? Right? I'm half hoping it isn't, but I'm pretty sure it is...

Sadly, it is over. :( I sort of fizzled on the whole "fic a day" thing two days before the end of October. But that doesn't mean we don't need more Pr0n in the world! I mean, what's to stop us all from doing Pr0ncember? Or Pr0n2007!

Seriously; they had something going, plenty of unanswered questions (I mean, even from non-pairing point of view, so many questions not asked or answered about Zabuza and Haku before they met and afterwards--so fricking COOL). I half-wish (well, in the case of these two MORE than wish) that Kishimoto would really copy Toriyama (and bring them back to life DBZ style in a way that probably makes no real sense ^_^ )and/or pull a fanservice episode/gaiden thing with these two in the past or alive again. You know. WHATEVER. Just so they come back. BECAUSE. They actually had room to grow into, and ways to grow ON you, and...yeah. His current characters don't really compell me to love/hate them, I can't even give too much of a damn about them (eg, see Sai, who could've been cool, only he's too much a fraternal sissy. Hell, see almost all the current 'villians' with sobby pasts).
