I just started crying at my Twitter feed. You know why? Because suddenly, it's flooded with farewell videos and addresses. From John Kerry to his Foggy Bottom employees (I'm pretty sure some of them were close to crying themselves), from the White House press team, from John B. Emerson (the US ambassador to Germany, who will have to leave Berlin immediately after Trump is inaugurated), from the Obamas... and I just. I just started crying. I saw grace and dedication, people genuinely caring about their job, caring about their topics and their service and I just couldn't keep it together anymore. It's not even my government, not even my country but damn, something in me just broke.
And then Fuckface van Clownstick tramples back into my timeline and I get so very, very furious. This ugly orange dickface has no interest in his job, no idea that his job is not just some ceremonial title like "King of America", no concept of what "service" actually means... and people's lives will literally depend on his whims come tomorrow noon. There will be people literally risking their life for this goon on a daily basis, he will be able to send men and women into battle at the stroke of a hand... and he does. Not. Care. Look at this moron. He. Just. Doesn't. Care. He has no idea what his job actually entails and he doesn't care learning about it. He thinks this is about making his brand great, that the privileged position he has is mostly a pulpit from which he can spew stupidities, lies and hate and then reap the rewards in the form of revenue. I am so fucking furious.
As someone with a burning wish to go into public service, someone who would gladly like to embrace the cornerstones that are set in stone at the entrance to the US Air Force Academy - "Integrity First, Service Before Self, Excellence In All We Do" - and serve, seeing someone who absolutely has no intention of serving anyone other than himself as America's chief executive makes me sick. Ugh. It's gonna be a long four years for all of us...
