It's that time of year again.
Sign-ups for sga_secretsanta, I mean. Right now, it's pretty heavy on the slash (as usual) and I'd be happy if some more gen/het/femmeslash peeps would sign up or I'm foreseeing lots of frustrated swearing during writing this year...
Also, by the way, got my first bad review on a story ever (after fifteen years of fanfic writing, I might add). I'm not overly put off by it (because I know the story in question isn't my best work and really, there are worse things than a bad review), just finding the entire pretentious style of the review itself pretty ridiculous (like, whoa buddy, calm down, it's fanfiction, not high class literature *rolls eyes). Also the fact that the reviewer didn't log in but chose to write a review as a guest is fairly, shall we say, cowardly. Other than that... *shrug
Oh, and if you usually follow me on any social media platforms (especially Twitter) and noticed a pronounced lack of tweets, it's because I made true on that post-thesis promise of installing every damn Sims 3 add-on I could get my hands on (basically: base game, Island Paradise, Supernatural, Pets, Seasons, Ambitions, Generations, World Adventures, University Life, Late Night, Outdoor Living, Master Suite, High End Loft and Katy Perry's Sweets) and you know how it is: you don't casually play the Sims, you binge for four days straight and then don't touch them for six months. I have to be honest, I mainly play for the building, not so much the playing and I think I've gotten fairly good at this building thing (although not nearly half as good as most of the Simmers I got my inspirations from). I have a Malfoy Manor (I love that house. Do you have any idea just how fucking hard that one was to build?) in Moonlight Falls, one very nice modern house in Sunny Tides and a couple painstakingly created community lots (a small park with community garden, a cat jungle including a café, a hot spot that is basically a witch house, a Chinese Garden and a public pool that's kind of Egyptian inspired) that I really like. If I ever figure out how to make screenshots from a Sims game look good, I might show them to you (that is, if anyone's interested).
Other than that, I should probably poke my advisor and second referee about the thesis (mainly about how big the chances are that I failed and need a second attempt, which would be really bad since I have to be enrolled for that and the university just sent me the formal confirmation that I won't be enrolled after September 30...) and start working on my presentation for the defense, so yeah... that's on the agenda for this week.
