Woohoo, finally got my part of the Christmas decoration done yesterday \o/ Here's what I made.

Yay, no spiders this time \o/ Lots of pictures, though, so not dial-up friendly. )

arts & crafts, happy holidays

Wow, looks great! :)

My decoration? Well...I do have an Advent wrath I bought at the store...and two chains of lights with stars that hang from my bookshelves all year long and get used in winter. Pathetic, right?

My straw stars are still securely packed away, as are the stars I made from transparent paper (for windows) years ago and all the other Christmas stuff I have. I had planned to bake some cookies today but ended up washing mold from a friend's bedroom wall.

There's a simple red-gold candle in a glass sitting on my low table in front of the sofa. That has to count for something, right? I'm afraid I'll never get around to making those R2-D2 snowflakes I had planned to do last year. :(

Heh, thank you!

Pathetic, right?

Nah, I love fairy lights, too and store bought advent wreaths save a lot of hassle (I never actually had one when I lived alone. I just had a plate where I put some greenery, some spicy stuff and for candles on because trying to decorate an actual greenery wreath would make me go insane)!

Yikes :S But there's still two more advent weekends you could spend baking!

That has to count for something, right?

Totally :D

Aw, just plan it for next year? They're not gonna run away and pretty sure they won't be offended if you just put it off another year ;)

So I guess there is some hope for me yet? ;-) Somehow the few weeks before Christmas are never enough to get into the mood for the holidays. Too much work to do. But next year I'll have R2-D2 snowflakes!

Your wreath is super cute! Yeah, that yarn wrapping does look tedious though :-)

What are the stars made of? A kind of paste? Don't think I've seen that before and they look great.

This is my main decoration: http://primarybufferpanel.tumblr.com/post/104417364704/its-my-christmas-thing
I don't trust my cats with a tree, so I do it like this. I also have about 5 strings of lights at various places in the house, and they magically transform into 'winter lights' at New Years and stay up until about march

(and thank you for the story! Sorry I've been rubbish with feedback)
