Pile o' Cookies!

On Tuesday evening, I did a little baking for both a workshop for young academics concerning the First World War (apparently, it's a topic fully ignored by German politics, despite it being the 100th anniversary next year and everything... people from countries affected by WWI other than Germany, is it true that the preparations for next year are all over your countries?) and paying a visit to the office and decided to try Cynthia Barcomi's recipe for white chocolate macadamia nut cookies from her newest book, Let's Bake.

The cookies were nice and chunky but either I chopped them to finely or the amount given in the recipe was too little because I kind of missed them in the cookies and would have liked to taste more of them (the trick about white chocolate macadamia nut cookies is that the nuts need to be salted so they play well together with the white chocolate and all the sugar in the dough). I think I'll pass this recipe in the future (but I still love Cynthia Barcomi to death. When you come to Berlin, we all need to pay her café and/or the deli a visit, y'all!) and use the Freundin recipe I discovered a couple years back but I'll of course post it if anyone would like it (and yes, I just realized that I still need to post the recipe for the orange chocolate muffins I posted last time... ahem).

Anyway, people both at the workshop and in the office liked them (the boys in the office especially... you'd think they never get cookies unless I bake them the way they always react to me bringing along cookies O_o), so they can't have been that bad :D

So... have pictures:

om nom nom, regular day at the office, for science!
