On this day in history, ten years ago.

I guess 9/11 is my generation's Kennedy assassination. We all knew where we were and what we did when we heard about the attacks. This is the story of where I was and what I did.

Remember, remember, the Eleventh of September. )

There is so much I WISH I could say about 9/11 but I just...still don't have words for it. Every year around this time I will literally eat up any new morsel of information they release on that day and the people who did (and did not) survive. The documentaries? I've seen most of them at least 20 times. The thing is? I didn't know anyone in either tower. I don't know anyone who did know someone in the towers (until recently) and I was thousands of miles away from the epicenter of that entire world shifting event.

But something about it and about the people and the spirit and the...courage. It captured me in a way that few things have been able to do. The only other thing I can thing of that captured my curiosity in the same way is the Oklahoma City bombing. (And...I've just realized I'm a strange duck)

I remember that for me? It was the 6th day of high school for me and I was a nervous wreck anyway (because if you think I'm awkward now? You should have seen me then) and I woke up to the entire world at a standstill watching New York. (You know...I should probably do a post of my own. Instead of hogging your comments section)
