Technologically speaking, this really isn't my month.
Because, you know, yesterday a virus ate my mom's netbook and I happened to be the one sitting in front of it. Contrary to common family opinion, it really wasn't my fault. In fact, as my sister's boyfriend concluded, something triggered a virus that already was on the computer and it had been there ever since my mom's Avira spotted it an put it in quarantine. My mom actually knew about the fact that there was a virus in quarantine on her computer. Let's not talked about this further, though since I'd have to admit then that the last virus scan I did was in 2009.
Also, the laptop was supposed to be up and running again today because my sister's boyfriend said he repaired all the faulty files on the hard drive. He did and the laptop booted but then it didn't let me access my files (turned out my sister's boyfriend forgot to tell it that I'm the files owner after putting the hard drive back in...). So I called him and we tried to change it via safe mode... which we didn't get to because once it started to run Windows, it just powered off. Because, you know, someone had to go poking around in its ventilator. Sp now the laptop is going back to him so he can access the hard drive again to backup my Evernote notebooks (because stupid me was stupid enough to make all the important notebooks - i.e. the ones with all the story notes - local notebooks instead of notebooks that can be synced...).
The biggest problem right now is that I'm starting to panic a little, seeing as I'm currently not able to write, except when I use the Window Live's Office version and I'm not sure if I'm desperate... scratch that, I am desperate enough to do that. I've got two story ideas in a mental backlog (one is an addition to her current story Deception of the Week that ancient_leah asked me for and the other one is a "fight of epic proportions" that mackenziesmomma would like to have (probably just because she wants to have "make up smut of epic proportions"...)) and have a goddamn big bang to finish by September (when was the check up point? I forgot it. Oh God. Need to look up het_bigbang again). I don't even know if I can make it with Windows Live and I think I might have to drop out shortly before the deadline because I won't make it after all and can someone please talk me off the ledge thank you.
I actually even was about to order a Dell Inspiron today but then Dell's order website decided to quit working (I actually opened a support chat to ask if they have issues with their site and I got confirmation on that...) and now my dad and his credit card are away (I got his permission to use his credit card so I can pay in just one installment) and I really do need a laptop so please be working again once I actually have my dad's credit card, dear Dell website, thank you very much. God, I hate computer trouble.
