i'm still happy :)
i got my first exam grade back today. it was our first sociology exam...i got a 96. i got everything right except for two multiple choice questions. and they were easy. when i went back and looked at the questions today and the right answers, it made complete sense. i guess i should have thought harder about those two. oh well.
our first rugby game is on saturday!! i'm kind of nervous because i'm not quite sure what i'm doing haha. but i'm figuring it out. here's a picture of the field:
you don't get to pick your number, you get the number that represents your position. so i'm number 13. my position is called 'outside centre'. but the thing is that numbers 10,12,and 14 are all seniors and juniors with years of experience, and so i don't want to screw up. but suzi, our captain, (who's position is number 9) wants me to play outside centre for the game saturday. so i'm in the 'back line' (positions 10,12,13,14) which is basically the offensive, scoring line. we run all the plays and basically, our whole point is to score trys and kick goals. we already have some plays! and we name them funny stuff. like 'airplane' and 'booby' and 'tijeras' ... (tee hare das) tijeras means "scissors" in spanish, and scissors is a common play in rugby. so if our flyhalf (number 10) calls out "tijeras 23" that means that the 12th position and the 13th position (me and a girl named parker), we run the play scissors. if she called "tijeras 34" then me and the 14th position run scissors.
its all very complicated stuff :)
but...besides that not a lot else is up. my classes are going really great, they're so interesting.
i've been talking to kris, she found this campground made just for dogs, and it's this side of raleigh so it's not too far away at all. she's so excited about it, she called me and was just talking a mile a minute. she got another puppy, her name is marli. which is funny because i looovoeoveovoeoooovvveee the name 'marlee' and i plan on giving that name to one of my daughters one day. anyways, she really wants to visit this campground soon...apparently they have like, kayaking and mountain climbing and all this stuff just for dogs. kristy is just going to die and go to heaven in this place :)
well i think i'm going to go take a nap in the grass out on the lawn before my next class at 2.
