well... i guess i'll just dive right in! i can already see this becoming a problem - updating instead of working. oh well, i guess it's better than reading US magazine or iming, right? that's what i'll tell myself, at least. well, things are going beautifully. loving the world right now. well, except for the looming question of early decision or not, and the threat of deadlines (newspaper, college apps, projects, and otherwise...) i need to find people to go to homecoming with. i've talked to liz and then talked to jason, so not really sure what i'm going to do... merge! muahaha. i guess i'll work on it. woohoo, pumpkin patch trip coming, if i can talk everyone into it and find a weekend that works for more than two people, a task that is virtually impossible. i already talked to jason, andrew, yidan, and liz... we'll work it out! i just finished the atrocious second draft of my long college essay for ms c and right now i should be studying for that gov test tomorrow, but i mean, hey, what else is lunch for? oops... geosystems lab to finish. well, i'll make it work... sensing a pattern? hmmm.....
newspaper is going pretty well. if only we could finish getting our act together on features, everything would be perfect. my wolf trap children's festival article is beautiful and mrs s said nice reporting, so that makes me happy. now if jen would finish her ms rhee article, i'd really be all set!
charles seife is a total ass. where does he get off telling the world that anyone with any ounce of religous faith is backwards and stupid and illogical? i was seething after that stupid assembly on friday. and then in ta today, the discussion was all about how poorly we had behaved. well, maybe if the school picked a book that was halfways interesting and a speaker who could actually speak, our attention would be held longer. in my own defense, i listened attentively through the whole thing - i came late so i got stuck to some jr guys i didn't know - and was breathtaken by his sheer arogance. he was totally condescending and insulting to the kids who didn't parrot back to him what he wanted to hear, and i'm not going to be at all surprised if letters come pouring into mrs lodal and the like. it should be a great next few days.
harriet what's her name (supreme court justice) - confirmation hearings should also make for an interesting few weeks. god, i'm such a dork - gonna be tuned in to npr or ::gasp:: cspan radio ::gasp:: for the next month... fun fun fun!
exhausted, tons to do tomorrow, so this is it for now!
sweet dreams...
