Nitpicky people...gtfo
I dearly love the childfree community on LJ. I really do. They daily post things that are amusing, interesting, or informative. Not to mention it's a community of people who also fail to understand the magic of children that everyone else seems to see. Which is all cool and awesome, right?
Well, most of the time.
But MY GOD I have never seen a community that is so full of people who need to find SOMETHING to be offended about.
Here's an example. Somebody posts a COMPLETELY RELEVANT POST to the community. However, they make the mistake of using the words 'spanish person' somewhere in their posts ( in either a negative or positive connotation, it doesn't seem to matter ) and suddenly the main content of their post is COMPLETELY IGNORED in favor of a bunch of people going UM EXCUSE ME THIS IS OFFENSIVE YOU ARE A BAD PERSON.
Seriously? GET OVER IT. See the big picture of what's going on and stop fucking NITPICKING people's posts for the slightest hint of something not squeaky clean PC. >:|
It happens a lot on the customers_suck journal too, but not nearly as bad. I want to call someone out on it, but I generally try to stay quiet in communities because I KNOW my opinions are generally offensive and unpopular :)
