Oh god stab me in the gut why don't you?

*stabs Frigga* Even in myth she's a shitty mother goddess; she and Odin get into a competition raising two mortals and basically convince them to murder one another so they can win.

But it fits Thor, posessive and dismissive shit he can be. But then I just finished rereading a convo on how Thor treats people he cares about versus people he doesn't, and he doesn't care about Loki. He's probably going to end up the one who reguards Loki as the most like a person, but he's still a posession.

...I now ship Golem!ki with Jarvis.

While I agree that she is not mother of the year in the myths, you should to keep in mind that Frigga is NOT Loki's mother here. And Thor is like the equivalent of 3-4 or something, so this is a pretty standard reaction for the age.

Also, note on Jarvis. I'm not shipping them, but that will probably come up at some point. (stop reading my mind)

No, she's not his mother. But she detects him emoting, looking hopeful, but dismisses it because he's not real.

True Story: http://infosoldier.com/soldiers-bond-bots-take-them-fishing

This robot doesn't look remotely human, and people still bond with them, feel for them, hurt for them. That Frigga doesn't when the Golem looks and acts so human? That is stone fucking cold.

"That Frigga doesn't when the Golem looks and acts so human? That is stone fucking cold."

I fully agree with that statement. That's what I was going for at the time.

If Loki is self-aware, how much does it weigh on him that he was only built as a toy/protector for Thor? How guilty does Thor feel for treating Loki as a toy and not as a golem that has basically become his brother?

That's where the next part comes in, this is going to be multi-part. Unreliable narrators and all that.

Aaaw. This is what happens when people don't read the instruction manual! It's like Frigga and Odin decided to buy their kid one of those toy laptops for toddlers, but came home with state of the art mac book instead! I think Frigga especially is going to be resistant to seeing Loki as anything more than a toy, since that would mean acknowledging that Thor has another person in his life D:.

wow, I feel really bad for loki, especially as I have a feeling he will evolve to become more of a real boy than Thor will for some time and he won't like it.

will he be able to alter his own parameters for independence once Thor leaves him behind for flesh and bone?

Spoilers, can't say. Next part will be up at some point this week though (if all goes according to plan). So you shouldn't have to wait long.
