Come back tomorrow for the torrent of writing!

I oh godafsh

I godd I.

Part of me is morbidly curious as to how much Thor would have beaten Loki before he realized his 'little brother' wasn't fighting back.

This is really good and really horrible. I mean, in those snapshots you just...the essance of an abusive relationship and a child/spouce too...too frightened I suppose, but that's not the right word, to fight back.

Learned helplessness. Or rather programed.

Considering how fast Odin got there...Fandral pulling a Loki? Or...

Part of me is picturing Heimdall feeling a twinge of unease And I like it alot.

I suspect an exceptionally poingant return/echo of the line "the loved ones you have betrayed."

And I'm frightened that Hallr, due to his programing, is going to get in the way of the beat down to protect Thor from Odin. And possibly glitch a bit about it too.

and sorry keep on adding stuff.

God the Avengers, Tony esp. were Heroes here. Dayum. Going against THOR, to protect an innocent unable to defend himself, without armor, without weapons?

With this...I think Odin can figure out what was going on in Loki's brain, before. He couldn't kill Thor, he was engineering a way for Thor to get his powers back and thus be immortal again. He was being a villian so Thor could be on Midgard and learn from these people who were obviously so good for him (Odin might have mistook them for more of the same of the Warriors 3 and Sif.).

And it's all falling into place. Pity it didn't for Thor. Pity the lessons didn't sink into his brain properly.

Are we going to get a Thor Noonesson/Friggjarson line here? And is Odin going to divorce his witch of a wife?

Speaking of unhealthy relationships... I also think it's worth considering exactly how cunning Frigga is that she was able to COMPLETELY turn Thor's mind around when he clearly knew what he had done to Loki. She saw he was emotionally vulnerable and bam.

No, Thor was still in denial when she got to him.

Maybe anon wasn't 100%, but it definitely wasn't denial at that moment. gekkoryu August 28 2013, 03:05:15 UTC
I think anon is referring to Thor's emotional breakdown after he realizes that Loki is The Golem (not actually Loki), flees to Asgard, and isolates himself while he has an anxiety attack. In the throes of said attack (emotionally vulnerable, check) he goes to his mother because Mother = Protector (even if Frigga is... not so much) and only after she is done with him goes back out into Asgard and talks to his friends.
Frigga has been subtly manipulating Thor and his relationship with Loki their entire lives. It is definitely within the realm of possibility that with this as a trigger she (for lack of a better word) brainwashed Thor into believing what she wanted him to. She refocused him on what has always worked in the past. Anger and arrogance.

That makes sense. Part of me is...he ran away back to Asgard, looking for comfort and for things to make sense, so to me that means that while finally he had a breakthough...he didn't have a full one. He was wibbly wobbly still partially in denial.

Or rather, he went from ignorant to denial.

Now I'm wondering about Frigga's politics. Because simply not liking Loki is no reason for this. Unless she doesn't like the kind of person Loki was trying to shape Thor into being (as part of his very existance/programing.) Or she didn't like the co-dependancy. Loki isn't competition for Frigga. Unless he is--as an advisor. Naturally Thor would try to pull away from Odin and Be His Own King. Else Odin will be King in all but name.

But Mumsy dear? Beloved mommy who always knows what to say and how to smooth ruffled feathers? Oh, her boy needs her.

Except, for the Silvertongue and his way with words. Except for the temprance Loki brings to Thor which is by nature of his programing equal to Thor's beligerance.
