Roxy and Scott

Jul 28, 2013 16:58

Scene: Scott was cantering Roxy around the ring. Roxy does not like her left lead at all, but will do it. She also feels that being asked to work is wholly unfair, and she was beginning to show her displeasure. I'm sitting at the corner of the ring with Scott's instructor (this awesome lady named Connie).

Me: "She's totally going to buck."
Connie: "Yeah, she's totally thinking about it…"
Scott: oblivious cantering
Roxy: head tossing and snorting
Me: "Think he'll get hurt?"
Connie: "Naw…he'll just bounce off her. He might even stay on…her bucks aren't that dramatic."
Me: "Hang on, I should video this then."
Connie: (lets me get my iPhone out) "Ok, why don't you ask her to canter one more time. Use your leg!!!"
Roxy: snort!!!!!
Me: (videos expectantly)
Alas…I mean…fortunately! Roxy was a good girl and her threats were empty. Also, we are terrible terrible people. We did let Scott in on Roxy's mood, which he was apparently more aware of than we realized. He was a good sport about it though. One of the things I really like about Connie is that she grew up the same type of barn rat that I did. And I love that my husband is a very very good (and fearless!) sport! =D
