February is the beginning~

Feb 07, 2006 20:45

I think February is the real start of the new year for me~  January was a weird month, I spent most of it still hanging onto 2005.  It was like a dead month, really.  But I was sitting in my office on January 31, staring at my calendar, and decided to flip it foward to February because I was sick of January.  And for the first time this year I started planning things to do in 2006.  I think 2006 is the year of weddings~ my sister's getting married in May, then my cousin in August (on my anniversary!), then my law school friend, and some coworkers and such are getting married in October.  The last time I remember there being so many weddings was in 2000.  I'm already looking forward to anime con season~ I wonder if I'll go to Expo this year...

Well February is Chinese New Year, after all, so maybe that's why it feels like the start of the new year.  OOh Imee I got your goodies package today, thank you so much!!  No I don't usually celebrate CNY, but this year I am! :D :D  I love all the nyankos~ and those snacks are gonna last forever. ^^  bikkurishimashita yo, anna ni takusan no omiyage o agete kurete.  hontouni arigatou ne!  Yeah I feel bad because I'm the one that's supposed to give the red envelopes. XD

I've already had much fun in February~  The most fun I had in a long time was watching the CDTV clip with Imee and Sarah.  It's rare that we can watch things together for the first time (actually, wasn't that the first time?) and it sucks not being able to just drop by each others' house and watch stuff together.  The world is too big~  Speaking of that, this is cool: http://earth.google.com/  You can fly around the earth, zoom into places, even specific addresses and see amazing detail because it's from satellite photos.  Like this:

It starts with a view of the world~

Then it flies to whatever location you type in.  Aah, I want to go back here~~~ ^^

You can get really detailed images of some places, like Tokyo~  You can see Tokyo Station up near the top, and that oval building near that pink square is the Tokyo International Forum. ^^  I think the Jojoen restaurant was in one of those tall buildings just south of the Forum.  When I typed in my own address I could totally see my house. @@

So anyway, I am at a loss as to what I'm supposed to get Mr. G_n_n for Valentine's Day. ^^  We're going out to dinner, etc., but getting him a little something would be nice.  Food maybe.  XD  I think food is the best present because it never goes to waste~ at least if it's something the person likes. ^^
