Stupid LJ decided to go down and I lost my post for the second to last episode. ~_~
Anyway! Done now, finally, after stalling for weeks.
First of all, yey!
They're alive! Stupid show actually had me going there for two episodes, with the whole disappearing into nothing business. And I was sure that Hiroto and Miu were next and that Ren and Saki were next. >>
It was particularly cruel that this:
Came after an episode full of this:
Gunpei had obviously been waiting for MONTHS for an excuse to get Hanto in a dress orz
And let me tell you, "I want to take a picture of him in a dress so I can tell my mother he's my girlfriend so she'll stop bugging me about an arranged marriage"? Really not making this sound any better, Gunpei.
Hanto, you little whore, you just egg him on, don't you?
Anyway, it was horrible because it robbed me of the chance to make a silly post full of screencaps of Gunpei all over Hanto. Obviously I'm making up for that now. ¦Dv
And then the Wings, and I knew that they were gonna sacrifice themselves. Because that's the kindof characters the are. And oh god, Hiroto. ;___;
Hiroto was so awesome that entire episode. Well, okay, Hiroto was awesome through the entire series (even in his epic fail moments, actually, ESPECIALLY in those moments), but he was particularly awesome in this episode. The scene with Sosuke in the warehouse, and then when he screams at bomper to collect the date as he and Miu are disappearing. T_________T
But anyway, this last arc was awesome. I didn't expect it, obviously, after so lighthearted and silly a series, and it actually really upset me so much that I spent all of 48 and a good chunk of 49 sadfacing and really... not enjoying it (because, well, it's one thing when you're watching a GRIMDARK series like Faiz, or when your favorite character(s) is Kitaoka or the Hoppers, because you're prepared. I wasn't prepared.
But that aside, after it's over, I appreciate a story that can get to me in that way, so it's all good. And it made the last ep SO good.
I'm guessing every sentai series ever has its own variation of that shot? ♡
Oh, and the last roll call. I used to not get what the big deal was about roll calls when people talked about them, but by the time Shinkenger got to ITS last ep, I got it.
And then of course it bears mentioning how in the little epilogue, Gunpei acts like he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. And then, he has Hanto handcuffed? And Hanto evades answering WHY he was handcuffed until he comes up with some lame "oh, I was playing with Gunpei's handcuffs"? Again with making things sound even worse. XD
So basically, loved Go-Onger. A lot. ♡
