I'm a horrible person...
But god help me, DATS HOT!
When the hell did Kitaoka and Asakura get so... hoyay? Because damn. I mean, I'm not gonna ship it or anything, but damn.
Anyway.
Ryuki 42-43 (I was actually gonna watch more, but my reencode of ep 44 was messed up).
So, really interesting eps for Kitaoka.
In the last few of episodes, Reiko has enlisted Kitaoka's help in trying to get in to see Asakura in jail, and in trying to investigate what's up with Kanzaki Shiro's old lab. And Kitaoka helps her because he wants to get in her pants... all right, not really. Well, he does, but it's gone beyond that. Personally, I think in part it's the fact that she wants nothing to do with him (or wanted nothing to do with him... because she sure does go see him and asks for his help a lot for someone that supposedly hates him), and also... he's got a heart under there, it would seem. And Goro-chan knew it all along.
Anyway, so the investigation into the lab was fruitless, and then he took the opportunity to have a little impromptu coffee date, and then Toujo, aka Kamen Rider Tiger (whom I hate a lot) attacked her, he pushed her out of the way, she got knocked out, he went off to fight, and landed in the hospital, where Ren (who took him there) found out about his illness.. and it's like, I wouldn't say Ren and Kitaoka are friends now, but there's certainly an understanding between them now. It's interesting.
Anyway, 42 starts with Goro-chan taking Kitaoka home, and Kitaoka musing about how he thinks he's become weaker, while Goro-chan disagrees and says sensei is a strong person.
Then Reiko shows up at Kitaoka's place to question him about what happened, and he basically purposely pisses her off to throw her off the scent of the Mirror World and monsters and Riders. Tells her to stop chasing fantasies and undermines her work. Which, yeah, that's gonna do it, no better way to piss off a woman like Reiko (short of banning her from a press conference, and then sending her flowers and a big poster sized photo of himself with a note telling her she can use that on the article... but he already did THAT...).
Anyway.
He obviously didn't enjoy making Reiko angry, but tells Goro-chan that she was getting too close to the truth and that it was dangerous. To which Goro-chan replies happily that he really likes this side of Kitaoka, and Kitaoka says this is what makes him weak, but Goro-chan disagrees.
So...
in some ways I was right and in some ways I was a bit off.
Kitaoka is not a jerk with a heart of gold. Kitaoka is a self-serving douchebag, and I seriously doubt he payed for the surgery out of nobility or kindness.
He's not a jerk with a heart of gold, but he IS a jerk with a teeny tiny heart that's kind of rusty from lack of use and whose existence he seems to want to deny. According to Goro-chan, there is a... less douchey side to Kitaoka. Almost kind, maybe. Sorta. A little bit. ALMOST. And he Kitaoka himself acknowledges that, but also says it's a weakness.
But anyway. Highlight of the ep: Ren, Shinji, Kitaoka and Asakura all hanging out in the empty lab (that thing I said about an understanding between Ren and Kitaoka, it actually sort of goes for all four of theseguys, even Asakura; again, interesting dynamic), and Kitaoka taking a vote to see how many of them think Shinji is a despicable idiot. XDDD
And then ep 43, in which Kitaoka might be hinting that he may have been less of a douche and more of an idealist when he was younger. Interesting.
And then finally...
ZOLDA'S GOT HIS MOJO BACK~!
I totally fail at not making this all about Super Lawyer. ;____;
