My hours this week were substantially shorter than last week. I did what I could to pick up more, but still, I essentially lost a day. I can call to see if they need help when I want extra hours, but that is unreliable. And I don't know if this was a one-time type of thing, or if it will be common occurrence.
Bummer.
So I'm most likely going to search for a second part-time job. Places are looking ahead for seasonal help, so now is the time to strike. First place will be Barnes and Noble. Looks like I'll be updating my resume once again. >__<
In other news: the friend situation is looking up. We're having dinner on Friday with a couple we met through the church. I attended a knitting circle on Tuesday; they meet twice a month. Mostly older ladies, but it was still fun. And I finally finished that damnable sweater because of it.
Started reading a new novel by Patrica Briggs, of the Mercy Thompson series fame, titled Raven's Shadow. It's one of her earlier books, and it's entirely fantasy; so far I'm really digging it. On a fun side-note, my Dad read Moon Called. My Dad. I don't know how long it's been since he picked up a novel. Best part: he liked it. ^__^ My nearly 71 year old father likes paranormal fantasy with silly love triangle-type complications...though honestly, knowing him, it shouldn't surprise me that much. Also discovered that I really like the artist Isobel Campbell. She is now my current favorite Pandora Radio station, followed closely by June Christy and Xandria.
