Lucky. Yeah.

I'm getting really tired of being told that I'm lucky.

I just got pulled over by a cop who apparently had nothing better to do and was charged with the horrendous crime of having an expired license sticker on my license plate. This means that my registration has expired...something that the Motor Vehicle Department did not bother to notify me about.

I have no clue how to renew the registration.

I do not know how to get to the Motor Vehicle Department branches.

I don't know where to go or what to do.

I have just been given a charge of ninety-three dollars for having the effrontery to operate my car on city streets. Presumably the town of West Hartford would like me to drive it through the air. I have been informed that I should be GRATEFUL that my car was not towed (a seventy-eight dollar fee--and why would they need to tow it? It works!) and that I was lucky that I was not being charged with not having my insurance cards in my car. (They aren't cards, they are thick sheets of paper. They don't fit in my pocketbook, much less my wallet, they don't fit in the glove compartment, and they are bulky, okay?)

And, by the way, I was out in the first place to deliver a phone number and address to Friendly's. A friend of mine, one of the waitresses, is missing. She has been missing for three days, and no one has heard from her. The other employees of Friendly's, and myself, are very much afraid that her new boyfriend may have killed her.

I don't know what to do. I honestly don't know what to do.

I swear that it seems that everyone is out to screw me over and to tell me that I have to be grateful for it.

ETA: Found the blasted DMV. Got the sticker and the new registration. All is well, car-wise. Still waiting to hear about Suzanne, though.
