I heard about the storm on the Today Show this morning. I've learned not to trust the weather stations as they're nearly always wrong!

I was across the street from a lightning strike, once. The hair on my arms stood on end and I could taste the electricity. It struck an old pine tree which went up in flames, which didn't last long as it was pouring buckets. The fire department came -- gorgeous firemen -- That I really remember! LOL.

I'm glad you're okay, the power is on, and I'm surprised that your computer wasn't fried. Whew!

I'm very glad that it wasn't fried! That would have been heart-breaking.

We had another power outage tonight. Another transformer blew. But the power came back in an hour and a half.

June is TOTALLY hurricane season, and you are not silly at all for worrying about hurricanes after that nonsense. *hugs*

Oh, dear. I thought hurricane season didn't start until September. Well, hopefully this won't happen again. And thank you for understanding!

I love a good storm but not like you've described. So glad you're ok. We're having stupid weather - high winds and torrential rain which is all wrong for here in June. We all need some normal weather.

I'd say that's wrong! That doesn't sound like U.K. weather at ALL. I hope that it calms down soon.

Wow. I'm glad I didn't see any lighting strikes *that* close - and glad you got power restored relatively quickly.

I was watching the weather radar on Wunderground when it started. From a warning point of view, the problem was that it DEVELOPED right over central CT - instead of blowing in from somewhere in the west. Sheer rotten bad luck is what it was.

Thanks. I'm glad too!

I hadn't heard of Wunderground, but I'll check it out.

Oh, dear. That's inconvenient. But it explains a lot.
