Tumblr

I'm afraid I don't get Tumblr. I know that part of the reason I don't want much to do with it is the missing E in "Tumblr." That makes my brain itch; I want to fix it and I can't. I know how trivial that sounds, but it honestly has a nails-on-the-chalkboard effect; I almost hear the screeching sound when I look at the word

I joined Facebook when I first moved to Oxford and it was one of the best ways to get in touch with people in different colleges (especially for multi-college events, etc), and I mostly use it to keep track of people I don't normally get to interact with in other forums, either IRL or on LJ. Also, it is weird how much interaction I have with my extended family on Facebook, but they are literally scattered across the world, so it probably makes a weird sort of sense.

You know my real name so if you'd like to friend me on FB, that is totally fine! I don't post very much except for random silly stuff, but my exceedingly opinionated husband uses it as a forum for his political observations and that is generally amusing to watch.

I should be back on LJ more often now that my teaching term is over and I can actually start writing again (thank goodness). I am hoping to do proper posts on the seminar this summer, at least in part to help me keep track of everything. I'm really sad that I didn't manage to keep up with my teaching posts, but it was just too much this term.
