The Furnace. As USUAL.

GODDAMNED FUCKING FURNACE.

The furnace shut down again around 3:00 a.m. last night. Once again, there is no heat and there is no hot water.

Thinking it was the short mentioned in the previous post, I FINALLY got the furnace guy to come out and see what was wrong.

No, it wasn't a short. There's something wrong with the gauge.

The gauge is showing between half to three-quarters of a tank of oil.

The oil tank actually contains...zero. It is bone-dry. Not a drop left.

And because of that defective gauge, I have not been getting my full allotment of oil from CRT.

So now I have to freeze until Monday, call Public Works and see if they will pay for a new gauge and get CRT to give me more oil. Because that gauge has apparently been broken for a while, which means that the oil company thinks that it's filling up a half-full tank, instead of just providing me with half a tank instead of a whole one.

If I am very, VERY lucky, I may get some oil by Wednesday. If not...I don't know what I'm going to do.

Why doesn't anything ever WORK?

P.S. I just called Kasden Fuel. The minimum purchase would be 150 gallons (never mind that my tank only holds 125 gallons), would cost 500 to 600 dollars, and would have to be paid to the service guy at the door. I don't have that kind of money available, so I'll just have to freeze.

Oh, and the woman at Kasden bitched out the furnace guy for not going down to the corner and getting me ten gallons of oil. However, she refused to let Kasden do the same, as I dared to not use their service techs but instead called the people who installed the furnace.

Thanks, Kasden. I really needed that today.
