Okay, the Comcast mess got cleared up--my TV, cable and Internet package expired this month (nothing I could have done about that, it was only for a year and that particular 129.00 package doesn't exist any longer), so Comcast tacked onto the bill a) the money I actually owed for April, which I can understand, and b) 179.00 for a future package, retro-charging for it. So they were charging me during April for something I hadn't bought yet and wouldn't use until May.
The April part of the bill has been paid, and the future package taken off the bill. And I now have a package at 139.00. And there's a chance that will go down in a couple of months.
I went to the Wound Center the other day. I have a new doctor now--my old one transferred to another area of the hospital, regrettably, so I'll have to train the new one. I'm going to be going back to Nola, my lymphedema massage therapist, because there's a blockage in my left leg that I can't self-massage away. That's fine with me; in fact, I'm the one who told the doctor very firmly that that was what I needed. So he wrote the prescription, and on this coming Thursday I go for an evaluation, as it's been about a year since I saw her.
Other than that, I'm very healthy--in fact, the doctor said I didn't have to come back for a check-up unless I was sick. Since the condition I have is not going away, though, I think I'll just keep going to the Wound Center every two or three months so that they can monitor how I'm doing. I don't want to have to be hospitalized again. I mean, EVER.
Oh, and I'm losing weight, and my blood pressure is down about twenty points.
The I Do! anthology is doing well. In the first quarter, I Do! earned $373.63 from sales of the print book. Ebooks sales for this period won't be reported until next quarter because Fictionwise and All Romance Ebooks take 45-60 days after the end of a quarter to pay-- but are expected to total at $846.39 so far.
Which means that in the first quarter of 2009, I Do! earned at least 1220.02 for Lambda Legal Defense. Not bad at ALL.
And if any of you want to buy it, here is the link:
http://www.allromanceebooks.com/getPrint.html?id=13684 You can get e-book editions from All Romance Ebooks, Mobipocket and Fictionwise, or a paperback version from Barnes & Noble. (You could also get it from Amazon, but since it was one of the books that was de-ranked during Amazonfail, I'm not really thrilled with that particular corporation at the moment.)
I'm working very hard at writing. I'm working on a Regency novel that I hope will be salable (it's called A Most Unsuitable Love, and the four main characters are all unsuitable for each other for various reasons) and two stories for
lgbtfest (Discworld and Dresden Files bookverse, respectively). I'm also researching for an original (and publishable) novella due this summer, and I think I know what I'm going to be writing for
femgenficathon. I am a busy Gehayi at the moment.
And I got interviewed about gay historical romance by the Hartford Advocate.
So that's how things are going with me at the moment. All in all, things are pretty good.
And how are things with you?
