I think most of them had servants who waited on them hand and foot.
If you figure out where to acquire servants like that in the modern age, please tell me.

Sometimes I wonder how all those sick and dying writers and poets managed to be so bloody prolific.

Me too. My only illness is depression and I still can't accomplish much of anything concrete (although that's going better). Sorry it's so tiring for you. *gives hug*

I'm glad you're accomplishing some things; accomplishing stuff is good, especially when you've got depression to battle. Depression utterly sucks. You have my deepest sympathy. If you want to yell and scream and wail to someone who knows what depression is like, feel free.

I'm doing better--the legs are down a LOT--but I've been picking up a lot of viruses (virii?) at the hospital gym. The first time I was sick for twenty-four hours. The second time I was sick for forty-eight hours. And the third time I was sick for three weeks. (Two weeks sick, plus a week convalescing.) I haven't dared to go back since; I'm highly susceptible to infection, thanks to my compromised lymphatic system, and...well, I have vivid memories of the staph infection that almost killed me back in 2005.

I like the gym. I don't mind getting exercise. I'd like to build up stamina. But I don't want to get sick every time I go.
