Though I would like very much to pound whatever software designer who thought that the ability of floppies to corrupt instantaneously was an acceptable design flaw.
Having lost stuff before, I've now gotten into the habit of keeping a rewritable CD beside my laptop, and I save my files every time I update them, even if the only change I made was one word or a punctuation mark. I'm way too paranoid now.

Scary!! Have you tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it? That's the thing to do when a program starts acting wonky. I've done it myself (for some reason Adobe is always getting messed up on my machine), and it worked for a friend of mine a month or two ago. Of course, you've got to have the installation disk, but still.
