i skimp when buying:
cosmetics, as evidenced by the trademark scarring left behind by the drugstore brand foundation i matched carefully to my skin tone under the harsh lights of shoppers' drug mart and the glittery bronzer that only succeeded in highlighting the facial eruptions that proceeded to form on my skin. i've learned from my mistakes and stocked up on non-comedogenic makeup from the clinique aisle of sephora. but american sephora, so that everything cost me a lot less. underwear, as well. i never make the purchase unless there is a promo at urban outfitters or american eagle, x number of pieces for y dollars. i trawl the sales section grabbing $4 polka dot thongs and seamless boy shorts. jeans are also something that i don't care to spend money on.

i splurge when buying:
i happily swipe my battered debit card for clothing in general but never too much on one particular item. however, this doesn't say much as many people have demanded i change my definition of cheap. it is subjective.

i always break this fashion rule:
wearing cigarette jeans with flats. being five feet, two inches, and far from the leggy, twiggy models who are supposed to be the only ones capable of pulling off the look, i am technically supposed to pair my denim with heels. at least according to victoria beckham.

i never break this fashion rule:
um, i never wear sweats in public?

must have item for spring 2008:
a pair of caramel leather sandals, chain strap purses, structured skirts

favourite store:
this list is appalling in its unhipness -french connection, urban outfitters and h&m.

style icon:
i am all over the map with this one. i like the simplicity of michelle williams and kirsten dunst's styles, slightly rumpled basics that are completely wearable; rachel bilson's california-quirky outfits; the high fashion, almost aggressive simplicity of the traina sisters. julia restoin-roitfeld; runway models backstage. of course, none of their looks actually translate into my own style. i just, y'know, enjoy saving photos of them from style.com.

most cherished item:
of clothing? uh, i don't have one. i think everything i own is fairly disposable. i wouldn't mind having anything lost by the airport, actually. then i can just purchase a new wardrobe.

favorite item of clothing:
the scarf i inherited from my mother that i would wear everywhere and everyday, if allowed. this is an edited answer. clearly i have no life.

favorite stylish movie:
older films tend to have better-styled actors. this doesn't answer the question, i know, haha.

guilty pleasure:
celebrity blogs, whee.

describe your personal style:
eh.

i feel best wearing:
loose blouses and tight bottoms.

personal style quirk:
uh, i'm not sure if this counts, but i rarely leave my shirts untucked or my belt loops hanging empty.

most overrated item:
brand name denim, though i am sure everyone will disagree with me on this, brightly colored purses, earrings.

most underrated item:
i can't think of anything that's underrated, really. clean hair, perhaps, harhar.

most stylish city:
paris, france

never caught wearing:
sweats, as mentioned above, ugg boots even now, any brand associated with or worn by hip hop artists, door knocker earrings, stiletto boots, golf shirts, colored leg warmers, cableknit turtlenecks, hair scrunchies, leggings cut at the knee, acid-wash jeans, spandex tops and related clubbing wear, cargo pants, trainers

when i was in high school i wore:
i went through a phase in which i only wore tops in white, black or beige, skintight flared jeans and shoes that added a couple of extra inches. when i discovered color again, i liked matching my purse to my flip flops and my flip flops to my shirt, har. i had a collection of graphic shirts and polos. there was always at least one item from american eagle incorporated into my outfit.

shine your own shoes?
i would but i don't have any that need shining.

favorite fashion magazine:
teen vogue, whee.

favorite other magazine:
lula, martha stewart living, domino

cologne, skincare, perfume:
i use the clinique three-step and prefer clean scents over everything else.

i always dress my best for:
myself. and dress worst for my mother, har.
