the schrodinger wave Equation
i just took a test entirely based uppon the concept of matter waves and the schrodinger wave Equation. thats right, we spent 3 weeks looking at this single linear partial differential equation and then had a test on it. sounds reasonable right? A test on only 1 equation (that we didnt even need to solve as we were given the forms of its solutions). I failed that test badly. who ever imagined that the concept of matter as a wave waving in some undifined medium in some undifined manner, that can act as both a wave or a particle depending on how you look at it, would be much easier to understand and visualize than the equation that defines it?
