But the movie reviews are so dumb. Not that they will dissuade me from seeing it in any way. I just hate how dumb they are. Excerpts:
"Credited as “special guest director,” Mr. “Pulp Fiction” himself, Quentin Tarantino, steps in to direct a mystery scene. Obviously this is meant to start a guessing game among Internet fanboys who will argue for years over which scene is QT’s, but I just don’t care."
You goober. It's no mystery which scene Tarantino directed. "Obviously" you are a really bad movie reviewer because you have to resort to making baseless accusations instead of actually reviewing the film.
"[Marv's] trail leads to a farmhouse occupied by a terrifying young man named Kevin (Wood) who fancies himself a werewolf."
A WEREWOLF?
"Here Miller and Rodriguez plant another of their artistic defenses, that the women of “Sin City” are powerful. Yet this is a pathetic example of the comic-book definition of female empowerment: the ability to kill without conscience while flaunting enormous breasts."
Or maybe in noir stories, women tend to be dangerous and exploit men's sexual desires, and gun-toting hookers are a natural extension of that. Great job, Mr. Movie Reviewer!
"[Rodriguez] glories in violence for the sake of violence. It means nothing in his films. We’re not supposed to learn anything from it; we’re not supposed to laugh uneasily at it. We’re supposed to think it’s cool."
Now, I am no expert on the noir genre, but I cannot recall a noir story where the violence "meant" something.
"The remainder is the conclusion of the Willis story, followed by a brief return of the Hartnett character. Unfortunately, by that time I had forgotten that it was Hartnett in the earlier appearance, so I was merely baffled by the scene until I consulted the production notes."
Durrrr I done forgot what happened in the movie.
