Be in prayer
Our pastor, Dr Cole, officially announced his resignation last week. There has been some tension for some time now concerning some leadership issues, which escalated in a sense with a leave of absense at the start of the year by the pastor.
Be in prayer, both for our church and for Dr and Mrs Cole.
I am proud to be a member of Highland Baptist Church, which includes in its body any number of admirable and righteous people who live out their faith in a visible and tangible manner. I am also proud to have known the Coles, who have been, in my opinion, very uplifting and caring for all of us. I know God will provide for us all, according to His mercies.
This sort of thing should not have happened as it did, but I fully believe that it will work out for the best. After all, I am reminded that we are each imperfect, and fall now and again, oftentimes with consequences that persist. But God will provide for our needs.
And perhaps I shall be motivated to make sure I am fulfilling my part, and giving to others at least as much as I have received.
