a/n so here’s a tiny new year gift! i just simply felt the need to write some fluffy elixander so here we are.
”Hey. You know, we are friends now and all, so why not spend the New Year together? We could come up with something -“ Eli rambled on while putting his jacket on in the dim light of the streets. Alexander chuckled and gave a pat on his shoulder.
“Wow, you’re so tense. Relax,” he stated and smiled friendly. “Of course, Elison Kim. We are friends now, indeed!” They had gotten close with the past few weeks flowing by them, Kevin being busy with his musical. They never really hung out together before, when Alexander was stuck by Kevin’s side all his time. But finding out Eli actually was a very sympathetic guy was… comforting. More than that, what Alexander was trying to tell himself was that it was a new beginning spot to his life, that they were friends with Eli now.
Eli jokingly let out a high-pitched “yay~” and did some kind of like a happy dance while walking. Alexander couldn’t help but smile even wider.
“Let’s just try to get to my place before we catch a cold,” he suggested, trying to sound mature with Eli playing around him but blushed stronger than ever before when Eli brought his arms around his shoulders and rubbed them.
“I hope you feel warm now!” Eli exclaimed playfully and all Alexander could think of were Eli’s tips of showing affection towards the one. Oh, he felt so hot now.
Alexander shivered uncontrollably as Eli opened the door to his apartment. The smell of pizza hit his face immediately. “Wow, you’re here already,” Eli said and Alexander could tell he was a bit confused.
“Not pleased?” he smiled mischievously and spotted a frightened expression before Eli smiled again. His black hair fell in front of his eyes and with a quick swing of his head, it was back in place.
“Come in, darling. And happy New Year!” Alexander felt the familiar tingle inside him and his mind wished happy New Year to Eli as well, but he didn’t voice his thoughts. They only smiled at each other awkwardly while stepping into the apartment.
Alexander followed Eli to the now messy kitchen, first eyeing the oven. “Wow, Eli. You must really like pizza.”
“Are you telling me you don’t?” Eli asked with a dorky smile on his face. “Alexander likes food. That’s common knowledge you should be aware of, too.” Alexander was about to start nagging at him but focused on the table with lots of wheat flour on instead.
“Wow. Did the cyclone visit while you were gone? It’s not very cute to leave a mess like this behind oneself, you know,” he pointed out and lifted the empty flour bag from the floor. Eli’s face turned bright red and he turned his head slightly.
“I dropped it when you rang the doorbell,” Eli confessed and Alexander could feel the awkward aura drop above them like it still did at times. He only mouthed a silent “oh” with a round mouth and inched forward to clean the mess. “No, leave it. I’ll take care of it.”
“But it was my fault!” Alexander complained but Eli pushed his body between him and the table which made him pout disappointedly and leave it to Eli. He grabbed an onion and a knife from the table and childishly showed them to Eli. “I have to do something anyway.”
“Wow. Give it back! I want to prepare everything,” Eli exclaimed as he noticed Alexander’s acts and tried to reach the onion in Alexander’s grip but the latter backed away… “Watch out!”
Alexander immediately bumped against Eli’s chest as Eli pulled him from the waist. He felt his heart beat faster than for ages as he stared at the cooker, which was on, by the way. He heard Eli let out a relieved sigh.
“Wow. That was close.”
“Yeah. You’re right.”
“Learn that you’ll never try to get an onion I want to cut.”
“No. You learn to not touch my onions.”
They laughed comfortably against each other right before sliding into awkward silence. They stood there with the heavy mood as one, both smelling the other’s neck, even brushing their lips against earlobes. “You make me happy,” Eli was the first one to break the silence. Alexander felt weird inside. He’d describe the feeling inside him as a creepy, floating one.
“It’s almost midnight. Let’s go watch the fireworks?” Alexander blurted out quickly as he couldn’t come up with anything better to say. So he dragged Eli out of the apartment, the latter just in time managing to catch his keys before forced to the darkness. Alexander walked with a quick pace far ahead enough for Eli to have the need to run.
“The pizza… it’s still in the oven,” Eli puffed when he finally caught up with Alexander and turned him by the shoulder. “Are you angry at me?”
They faced each other for a tiny moment before Alexander started heading back to the apartment. “Sorry. We don’t want the pizza to burn, right?” Eli sighed loudly and made Alexander stop walking with his words.
“You’re so annoying when you’re like this. You are angry at me. Why?” he demanded for an answer, his eyes never leaving Alexander’s back. “Why?”
“Wow, Eli,” Alexander suddenly shot back and turned around again. “You’re so annoying when you doubt me!” And it was the typical angry Alexander. Eli knew it even though they were just getting familiar with each other. Everything Eli knew about Alexander was attractive though. And he did acknowledge it.
“Yes, I do doubt you,” Eli admitted quietly and smiled hazily while taking a few steps towards Alexander. “I just wish you hadn’t held back earlier.” And by closing the gap between them, he made their lips unite in the most beautiful of ways.
Alexander smiled into the kiss right when the clock hit midnight.
