Stuff has been going on.
Still unemployed.
Fear of failure is keeping me from even looking for a production job.
Unemployment will be running out soon. Don't know if I will be able to get an extension or not.
Last week I was able to go see a taping of The Big Bang Theory. It was the episode that Wil Wheaton guested on. Unfortunately the 2 scenes he was in were complicated to film, so we didn't get to see them live. They just played them for us and we added the laugh track. Wil was there though. I saw him tweeting from the comic book shop set and he came out for the curtain call. We got to say hi to him briefly afterwards. It took him a couple seconds to recognize me. He jumped up on an apple box so that he could give me a hug. It was really sweet.
My friend Brandi works for Warner Bros where they film, so she got us the hook up with the VIP reserved seats so we didn't have to worry about waiting in line and had guaranteed seats. It was cool.
Other than that I have been busy with dance. I switched to a new dance school in January and I love it! It is so nice to actually be supported by my teacher and not ignored.
On Sunday we had a 3 hour workshop. When it was scheduled, we didn't realize that it was on Oscar day. The studio is a half a block from the Kodak Theatre! The Hollywood/Highland subway station was closed the entire day and so was Hollywood Blvd and many of the surrounding streets (to cars - pedestrians were fine). I ended up getting off at the next station and walking the 0.7 miles up Hollywood Blvd - I found the Hollywood farmers market! Yay! We got stopped by security and had to get wanded and had our bags searched 1/2 block from our studio.
The workshop was great. They actually broke stuff down and made sure that we got it before moving on instead of just plowing through a step whether we had it correctly or not.
I still have a few more steps to learn. I can't compete again until the end of July (you have a 6 month 'restyling period' if you switch schools where you can't compete), so I have time to learn. I just want to do well when I get back to competition. I am actually practicing outside of class, something I never did before.
I am still struggling with getting rid of the last 10-15 pounds that my doc said I should lose. I am hoping to get them off by the Vancouver Con (and my return to competition). They just aren't budging though. Frustrating.
I started the final class in my Masters degree program. As long as I pass it, I will be done April 25th. The class sucks! I don't understand anything in the readings at all. There is a weekly discussion, a midterm, a 10-15 page paper and the final. Suck! The next 7 weeks is not going to be fun.
Only 6 days until my birthday. Might be going to Disneyland on Sunday.
