Who knew that you'd need your passport or birth certificate in addition to you current license in order to apply for a license in California.
I didn't.
*sigh*
So now I get to go back to the DMV on Monday (they are closed tomorrow) and try again.
I did register my car. Almost. They have to 'verify' it before it's complete. I guess they need to make sure that it's actually a car. I didn't have the car with me, since the DMV is right up the street from my work. I needed to get back for a meeting, so I figured I'll just finish things up when I go back on Monday.
And I was having such a good hair day for the picture!
At least it didn't seem too busy, so hopefully I'll be able to get things done pretty quickly on Monday without making an appointment.
It was also only $199 to register my car and change the title. Not too bad, I guess. I still have to pay for a new license though.
blergh
I do have some good news though. I started my tax return yesterday and as of right now, just taking the standard deductions (which is more than the itemized ones I had), I'll be getting back a whole hell of a lot more money than the initial estimate said.
Yay!
And to make it even better, I started a spreadsheet to estimate how much money I will need for Vancouver and the amount of my return is not too far from the amount that figure I need for the trip (minus the money I've already paid)! I am going to file this weekend and set up a direct deposit, so the money should get to me before the trip.
Yay!
I am actually feeling a bit crappy at the moment. I had an awful headache while I was driving into work and I was shaking at the DMV for some unknown reason - made filling out the paperwork fun. The headache isn't as stabbing anymore, but it's still a dull ache.
