I might do 35 minutes today, but I still haven't been sleeping well, so the energy is still crap. We'll see how I feel when I get to the gym.
I still haven't gotten my dance shoes yet. It's been a week and a half since I got the email saying they had been 'dispatched'. I have no clue how long it should take for something shipped from the UK, but considering I paid $20 for shipping, I hope they would have been here by now.
Dance class last night was frustrating again. I kept stepping on myself and just felt generally clumsy and crap. I've said that I was going to take bits and drill them, but I haven't. I know that's the only way to actually improve. Muscle memory. I fail at it. I just don't want to take the time to drill the bits in the dance shoes I have now only to have to 'relearn' them when I get the new shoes. Every brand of shoe is slightly different - where the tips and heels are - and it takes some time to learn where everything is when you get new shoes. The one thing I really need to work on is my double heel clicks (jump up and click your heels twice underneath you before you land) and these really depend on where the heels are on your shoes.
So frustrated.
And I have a competition in 3 weeks and then one the following week. I have to pay for one of them by Friday. I am just wondering if it will be worth paying the $50 entry fee when I've been struggling through my dances lately.
Tuesday I took my car in for maintenance. Fucking $658. Not cool. It was $95 for a smog test! (a requirement for registering your car in CA). Next Thursday I get to go to the DMV to take care of that. That's not going to be fun. Not only will it take forever (I have to take a written exam to get my CA license), but I am sure it will fricking cost an arm and a leg. There goes a big chunk of the money I was hoping to have for Vancouver.
And I found out this morning that CA can't pay out any income tax refunds. Nice.
*edit* My shoes just arrived! I have them on my feet now. Pretty dang comfy for dance shoes. They need to be stretched a bit (toes are a little squished together, but not too bad) and broken in, but I think they could work! *fingers crossed* They are wickedly padded! And I think the heels are a bit lower than my other ones (a good thing).
