Still Going...

I realized that I haven't updated in a while.

I am still running. The week after the race I only ran on Monday since the gym time for the rest of the week was spent practicing for the competition I had this past Sunday.

I've been keeping the same routine:

5 minutes at 5.3 mph
5 minutes at 6.0 mph
10 minutes at 5.8 mph
10 minutes at 5.5 mph
Total distance: 2.82
Average mile time: 10:38

This week I ran on Monday and Tuesday. Tonight I will be running with my friend around Toluca Lake. That should be fun! Cold! But fun. I will probably hit the treadmill again tomorrow.

It seriously has been freaking cold here lately. I know. I'm a wuss now. Mock me. But last night it was about 5 degrees from freezing. In L.A. I am seriously scared looking at the 10 day forecast for MN. I am going to freeze!

The competition went well. My overall placing went down (dead last!), but my placing from each judge actually improved slightly. My first competition back I got 7th, 8th and 9th (which ended up being 8th overall) and this time I got 6th, 8th and 9th (which was 9th overall). Both competitions had 9 dancers. I even got a 5th from one judge in my first round (which I totally screwed up on!). I always place better with the judge that gave me 6th. She seems to give bonus points to those that look like they are actually having fun! Last night my teacher said that she was pleased with the way I danced. So yay. I even got through my set dance (the one I dance alone) - the first part sounded really crisp and clear and on time! The last part wasn't as good, but it was better than I had been dancing it in class. And I had fun, which is the important part.

On the way home from the competition we stopped at the outlet mall and I picked up a $100 winter jacket for $25! yay! I like it because it's warm without being bulky. I got it at the Columbia Sportswear store. I now have a warm coat to wear in MN. I think I will get some cheap mittens at Target this weekend so I can keep the ones I have now nice since they are irreplaceable and have some sentimental value. Maybe a new scarf and hat too.

I only have to work 1 1/2 days next week. Flying off to Minnesota on a red eye flight on Christmas Eve morning (it was way cheaper!) and staying until Sunday evening. Hopefully I'll be able to stand my family for that long. The Boy is coming with me. Oooo scary!

I seriously can't wait to gorge myself on Kringle!!! And rice pudding with lingonberries!!! Seriously the best parts of Christmas.
