"I cannot find what I've been looking for, so I have to say I'm blind." -silverchair, "Blind"

I still feel no closer to graduating from Valencia. I'm going to have to give it up soon, though, it's almost getting as bad as Publix. At least Publix pays me, for Pete's sake. Going there day after day after day after... well, you get the idea. I'm a little like the Energizer bunny. She keeps going and going and going and going and.... I'm convinced that part of the way I feel about Valencia at the moment is because Spring Break is still so damn far away. The first week of April is way too far away, and it's really depressing that Alex's is next week. Bah.

Well, anyways, the closer we get to the month of May, the better. Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will be out May 16th. Jason Mraz's new Album, "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." will be out May 20th. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be out May 22nd. I'll also be in Georgia during the first part of the month. Score! I'm still trying to negotiate a trip to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, but it probably won't happen, unfortunately.

I haven't quite hit upon the exact reason, but I am really stoked for Indiana Jones. I recently watched all of the current ones, and they were a lot better than I remembered. I've always said that The Last Crusade is my favorite (which it still is), that Raiders of the Lost Ark is my second favorite, and that I didn't really like The Temple of Doom. Watching them again, however, has radically changed my opinion on Doom. Yes, it's a lot different than the other two movies. Yes, it has a scene that I still can't watch (the heart being pulled out of the chest, people, gross). Yes, it has the most heartbreaking scene out of all three movies (Indy hitting poor little Short Round! *gasp*). But it's definitely up on the same level as Raiders and Crusade, which I didn't appreciate before. Perhaps part of it is that the only times I ever really saw any of the Indy films is when we watched them in school, and at this point, I can't remember if it was elementary or middle school. And we only ever watched Doom and Crusade. I remember that much, because when I got my DVD set, I watched Raiders and was like, "wtf is this?" LoL

Favorite Indy quotes from off the top of my head:

"Nothing shocks me. I'm a scientist." -Indiana Jones

"It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage." -Indiana Jones

"I'm very little! You cheat very big!" -Short Round

Indiana Jones: "Snakes... why'd it have to be... snakes?"
Sallah: "Asps... very dangerous... you go first."

"You call this archaeology?!" -Prof. Henry Jones, Sr.

Professor Henry Jones: "Junior?"
Indiana Jones: "Yes, sir."
Professor Henry Jones: "It is you, Junior."
Indiana Jones: "Don't call me that. Please."

Professor Henry Jones: "I didn't know you could fly a plane."
Indiana Jones: "Fly, yes. Land, no."

Indiana Jones: "How did you know she was a Nazi?"
Professor Henry Jones: "She talks in her sleep."

Professor Henry Jones: "Those people are trying to kill us!"
Indiana Jones: "I know, Dad!"
Professor Henry Jones: "This is a new experience for me."
Indiana Jones: "It happens to me all the time."

"Damn... I thought that was closer." -Indiana Jones

and the classic:
"Oh, shit." -Indiana Jones

Okay, okay, so I had help from imdb.com. Sue me.

So I've spent all that space just to let you know you should definitely watch the current Indy movies before you go see the new Indy movie. ~end~

Last night was absolutely terrible at Publix. It was so busy, and anytime we made any headway on our lines, a wave, literally, a WAVE of new people walked up. Absolutely ridiculous. It didn't help at all that my lovely manager(s) didn't schedule any extra people for a surprise-crazy Monday night, but she(they) didn't even schedule enough people for a normal Monday night. I understand they're cutting hours (I don't understand why, however) and all, but seriously? Put your extra hours on full block nights. *duh* NO blocking was done before the store closed. And there were at least 3 carts of go-backs, one of which was entirely damages. I'm just glad Claudio, b.k.a. the Blocking-Straightening Nazi, let us Customer Service Associates go at midnight. I felt for the guys, but c'mon... none of them has Chemistry II at 10:00 in the morning. Meh.

Okay, time for me to go, methinks. I haven't posted anything in forever, then I decide to go on and on and on... much like my Valencia attendance, eh? *drums*

Get it? ...No? Oh well, your loss.

Much Love,
Julie
