Dragon*Con changed my life.

That convention was so amazing that I cannot adequately describe it. I had some serious spiritual revelations during my time there, met amazing people, saw possibly the greatest concert of my life, and partied like I've never partied before. Dragon*Con has officially overtaken AWA as the most important time of my year and I will now begin to funnel the majority of my con funds towards it. Saturday night was the greatest night of my life, overtaking AWA 10's spot.

Poor Ben, our friend from the previous D*C and room hoster, got sick on Saturday and had to go home. But we still stayed in the room with his cousin. I hung out with Tom and his brother Dan a ton and got to see that ever crazy motherfucker, Drake, a bunch. On Ben's medical permission (he is a registered nurse), I got drunk both Friday and Saturday night and did just fine- it made the con even better since D*C is basically one big geeky booze-a-thon. I went to the Cruxshadows concert with Drew and saw possibly the greatest concert I've ever seen. The costumes were amazing, the goths were beautiful, and everybody was friendly as fuck. It was everything AWA is times ten. The only reason Drew and I came home tonight instead of Monday night was because he got sick and my joints are getting rather sore.

The swag I got this year beats everything ever:
House of Tremere Dark Ages Vampire sourcebook on clan Tremere's history and doings of the time.
Clanbook: Gangrel The history of the Gangrel clan of vampires
Jerusalem by Night Dark Ages Vampire sourcebook on Jerusalem in the 1100s or so. PREPARE FOR AWESOME.
Cairo by Night Vampire sourcebook on modern day Cairo.
Iberia by Night Dark Ages Vampire sourcebook on Iberia and Spain and such.
Guide to the Traditions HUGE hardback book for all of the Traditions in Mage the Ascension 2nd Edition. This is the perfect starting point for my Mage history education.

And last but most certainly not least...

This.

Yes. That exact one from that exact place. And let me tell you, I look and feel so amazing in it. I will post pics soon. <3

As for the spiritual revelations, I realized while talking with Drew waiting for the concerts, pretty much hammered, that I am actually a very... How should I put it... Spiritual person? I guess what I'm trying to say is that I've pretty much been lying to myself for years on the topic of "I AM TERRIFIED OF GHOSTS AND SHIT BUT I TOTALLY DON'T BELIEVE IN THEM OR MAGIC STUFF". I still don't believe that there are spirits in the sense of you know, souls stuck on Earth, but psychic energy residue? Hell yes. And magic as manipulating ones energy with willpower as to shape it to your own desires? Hell yes. I've always wanted to try occult stuff but I couldn't do it without feeling like a damn fool. Now I feel like I can actually start to do it. Expect me to be looking heavily into the occult now- though I don't think I'll pick up a true system but more warp one to fit my own needs. It'll take me some time to fully settle in because this actually a pretty big thing for me, but I finally feel like I've found the answer to my spiritual conundrum I was having.

In closing, this weekend will go down in my memory as one of the best of my life, if not the best, and I will never, ever forget it. A++ would party hard again.

EDIT (2:33 AM)

Memories to note before I forget:
Drew drunk texting Roy and telling him "Roy, I love your mom. Let me step into her dreams."
Singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" with 50 other people in the Hyatt courtyard while smashed at 1 in the morning.
Talking about football with a bunch of bros at the hackey sack circle in the Hyatt basement.

Also seem to have lost my phone at the con. I reported it to the security, but I am not too concerned. I fucking hate that phone.

friends, ben, clothes, vtm, drew, awa, tom, mage, music, win, d*c, occult, whoa, awesome, amazing
