Dear Certain Person:

"Verbal abuse is a pattern of behavior that can seriously interfere with one's positive emotional development and, over time, can lead to significant detriment to one's self-esteem, emotional well-being, and physical state."

"Verbal abuse is arguably the most common type of abuse, and yet not looked at or taken nearly as seriously as the many other forms of abuse. In reality, however, moderate to severe cases of verbal abuse in which the victim is under constant attack, especially a child, may be even more detrimental to a person or child's health than physical abuse or other forms of abuse."

Thusly, if you actually did have any idea why I was so upset about my grandparents you wouldn't have said things such as "You let things effect you too much" and "What can they do besides talk?"

Sincerely,
A verbal abuse victim for over 10 years from three different people

In other news, my mother was able to use my little sister's illness as an excuse to delay the visit for two weeks. By that time I'll be able to put a retainer in.

Dad has made me feel better by bringing me home Chicken McNuggets plus listening to Volbeat/"Little Dealer Boy" from the Colbert Christmas Special.

bleh, rambling, food, music, fail, win, grandparents, dad
