AND THERE WAS ROCK
Nightwish was excellent. The new lead singer, Annette (SP LOL?), is fantastic. They just totally OWNED Nemo, Ghost Love Score, and Wish I Had An Angel. I like Tarja better on Dark Chest of Wonders but whatever. Just. God that Nemo. It blew my EFFing mind.
But most of all I've fallen in love with the band that opened for them, Volbeat. They're a Danish heavy metal/horror punk/gothabilly band. Basically Metallica and the Misfits had a baby that was raised by Elvis. (I swear the lead singer sounds so much like Danzig it's flat out creepy) I-it's the most beautiful and wonderful thing I've heard in months. I've downloaded all their albums and I'm going to listen to them tomorrow. JUST JESUS FUCKING CHRIST PEOPLE LISTEN TO THEM- THEIR SONG "RADIO GIRL" ESPECIALLY JUST OH GOD *AND I JIZZED IN MY PANNTTS*
Me and Fargo were gonna stay for 80's Night but we were so exhausted that we left to get McDonald's. Omnomnom chicken McNuggets. Kinda enjoyed going to the concert with just the two of us with no Drew. We haven't spent time together like that in forever so it was awesome! (Plus lolol WoW discussion)
... Did I mention I love Volbeat? I'm sorry I've just been looking for a band like for months. I was like "Huh! I like the heavy gothabilly sound of new Misfits! Maybe I'll like other bands!" But all of the other gothabilly bands I came across were just too... light. Not enough ***ROCK!!!*** I simply needed heavier music (lol metalocalypse) But the heavy metal aspect of Volbeat flows so perfectly with the gothabilly and it's so glorious *flails wildly*
Plus them being Danish is pretty cool too. *HI5 FOR SCANDINAVIA*
