In response to
fauxcynic 's fic-recommendation meme. However, because all the snow will have melted until I worked out why exactly I like my favorites list, I will cheat and bend her rules and post this in parts.

Warming fic! That’s what I would have needed today in the 10 °C place, might have saved me from jumping around like a crazy squirrel for warming up. (A brain freeze would come in handy there too but unfortunately your fic has the opposite effect)
That wasn’t said well, sorry if it didn’t come across as the compliment it was meant to be or as questioning the uniqueness of your stories and style. They feel different (and I really should find a less vague explanation), both the general atmosphere and the characters (like every author has her own version of Max and Logan) but, even though in a decidedly disctinct way, you both do things with the characters and the plot that fascinate me about a story.
For the plot I was thinking how your stories and her S2 in particular are using more than just the usual, isolated Post Pulse Seattle elements (always leading me into geeky-rambling:-)
And for characters, I could ramble about Logan but you both have an unusually mature Max, more than an insecure, relationship-challenged teenager (and even they tend to have complicated inner-lives:-) which makes perfect sense given her experiences.
Enough fic-rambling, if this doesn’t make any sense I’ll blame the temperatures or the shaking from the squirrel-jumping.
