The Whole Story
So Nina is walking from the back door to the recliner and falls HARD -- she goes face first into the wooden 'leg' of the recliner. I was sitting in the other recliner and didn't see her hit so I just sat there for a second praying that it wasn't as bad as it sounded. But Carolyn was in the kitchen and saw her go in and immediately started to freak out -- she came rushing in and scooped her up just as Nina caught her breath and started really screaming. Carolyn was just screaming "Oh my god, oh my god -- I think it's really bad.." but wouldn't look. She was trying to comfort her and when she turned around all I could see was blood. EVERYWHERE. All over her face; already staining her shirt.
I spent about 1.5 seconds totally freaked out before I jumped up, and grabbed Nina. I don't even know where Carolyn went but I was standing there with Nina, her blood staining my Blue Sun shirt (didn't care or notice at the time) when suddenly she started coughing up blood. This turned my huge freak out into a thermo-nuclear freak out and I yelled we were going to the hospital and busted out through the front door -- no shoes, in my PJs. I get to the car when I hear a little voice say calmly: "liiiiiight".
So that gave me a moment to collect myself. So we didn't end up going, but I'm only now coming back to my senses. This totally ruined my weekend and will probably wear into the week.
