I'm a bit late commenting on this, but had to write something. Wow, what a season.
I was upset I didn't make it to a single regular season game this year, but game one of the DCF more than made up for that. I watched about 75% of the playoff games the Celts played this season, and what a ride it was. What a team.
I was able to sneak out of work yesterday, grab Tori from NU, and catch the last 2/3 of the victory parade ("Rolling Rally"). These players seemed soooo happy. I think part of that happiness was the turnout. This town has become so Sox/Pats oriented, that even I half expected a somewhat weak turnout, but the young people of the Boston suburbs did not let me down. Taking place on during summer vacation, it was amazing to see the # of high school students sporting green who made their way into town for this parade. They were all thrilled to get to see these players, which was a big rush for me, considering the state of the Celtics in the 20 years or so I have been following them. I am sooo lucky to have been living this close to the city these last 8 years or so. I never in my wildest dreams imagined this many championships coming from the local teams ad such a great. It's good to be on top.
