And of course, since he had been on a bed several feet off the ground...he landed with an "Oomph!" on his backside as he came out on the other end. Groaning, he decided to just lay there for a moment until he could see straight again.
As the spots behind his eyes faded, he opened them to see...an incredibly low ceiling. He blinked a few times, trying to comprehend where he could be that would have buildings with ceilings built to accomodate people half his size. He figured that if he stood up, he'd probably have to bend over a little to keep from hitting his head. What was this, a kid's clubhouse?
It also appeared to be night out, sort of confirming his theory that time had become at least somewhat linear between the dimensions. Which would explain why, when he sat up and looked around the room, he spotted a bed bearing a lone occupant.
A very familiar lone occupant.
"Link?"

"D-daniel!?" Link replied, shocked to see his old friend in the middle of his house, "What are you doing here?" Link's voice wasn't that of a young child's anymore, as it had just started changing in the past couple months.

"But it's not permanent, and it only affects me, not you," he hurried to reassure. Daniel didn't want Link panicing into thinking that he was going to get sent off on another 'adventure' like what happened in Manhattan. "I just might be stuck here for a few hours."
Daniel watched the blonde boy's face, waiting for his response. Almost as a humorous afterthought, he added jokingly, "Sorry for waking you up, but this tends to happen at random."

"Uh, it's okay," Link replied to Daniel's apology, "I think it's close to morning anyway..." Close enough that it probably wouldn't be much of a big deal if the sun rose an hour or two earlier today. He went over to the lone trunk in his room and got out a blue ocarina, placed it to his lips and played a simple melody.
And suddenly the sun started peeking over the horizon.

While Link was walking to the trunk, Daniel just sort of watched him, slightly preoccupied with thoughts of how something seemed...different about the boy. What was it? His voice? Yes, that was it; his voice was a little deeper. That made sense, considering his age and the amount of time since he'd last seen him.
He was still thinking as Link got the ocarina out and began to play a pretty, catchy tune. Any other differences were hard to discern in the bad lighting-
-Aaand that was the sun coming through the window. Daniel stared at the now-faintly-glowing horizon, his internal clock telling him very sternly that now was not the time for that, different dimension or not. Daniel shot a befuddled glance at Link, back out the window, and then back at Link again. "Did you do that?" he asked, equal parts suspicious and confused.

"It's the Ocarina of Time," Link continued, "The treasure of the royal family"

Now in a slighly better position, Daniel finally got a good look out the window. He jerked back slightly when he realized that they were up in a tree. "Oh wow, wasn't expected that," he laughed nervously. Glancing around again, he asked curiously, "I take it this is your house, then?"
He was going for the easy-going small talk route at the moment. They could get to the more important topics of discussion once both of them were not quite as off-kilter about the situation.
