If You See a Dragon, Don't Scream

Hi, guys! Hope you're all doing well out there in our friendly apocolyptic Manhatten. Been very busy lately, so sorry I haven't been on the network in the last few days.
Anyways, I'm currently at one of the internet cafes with a new arrival. His name is Kang. And I just wanted to let everyone know, don't be afraid when you see him. The reason I felt ( Read more... )

dragons are surprising but not evil, lets not be prejudiced please, this place is really cold!

A dragon? Why, based on your helpful little description there, he sounds absolutely wonderful.

He does seem fairly friendly. And who knows? We could probably use the help of someone with a little extra physical strength around here.

By the way, hope you're doing well, Doctor. Haven't seen you since the Team Science function at Seventh Heaven. We should talk sometime, I'm interested in hearing more about what you do.

((OOC: Sorry I never replied to your reply to my comment! ^^; Feel free to consider this the start of a thread invite, if you still want them to meet.))

Quite true. Never hurts to have a bit of help with heavy lifting and the like.

I am, thank you, and I hope you are as well! I certainly agree - I think we could have quite the interesting chat. And I'm interested in hearing more about what you do - well, if you're at liberty to discuss it, of course.

((OOC: That's okay! ;D And I think it would definitely be fun for them to meet, so yes, I'd love to do a thread if you still want to.))

Well, here's an interesting development: apparantly he's been inducted into Team Science as an engineer! Just goes to show how one can underestimate another person.

I'm doing as well as can be expected.
...Well, I've discussed it with a few other people by now, so...it probably wouldn't hurt. I've mainly only spoken with those who have some link to space or space travel, so you would certainly fit into that category!

I wouldn't mind a meeting; I could use some human interaction. (The only other person in my building is a slightly anti-social teenage boy, so I don't get the most opportunities to chat with someone.) What might be a good time for you?

((OOC: Sounds fun! Where do you think they should meet? Someplace interesting would be cool. I don't know enough about Daniel apartment for there to be anything really interesting there. Any suggestions?))

A dragon with a penchant for science? A dragon that does engineering? I'm liking the sound of him more and more.

Oh, brilliant! I'm looking forward to hearing about it, then. I can understand the need for discretion, of course, but I doubt - I seriously doubt - that you could say anything that would be too terribly shocking to me.

Anti-social teenage boys aren't the best conversationalists, no. Too busy rebelling against authority and all that to give you the time of day. But, yes, a meeting! Anytime would suit me, really - sooner rather than later, yeah? I'm not running on an especially tight schedule here, as you might imagine.

((OOC: Okay! Yeah, probably not an apartment, since I don't know much about those, either. I'm not sure which landmarks/buildings are accessible, so if you already had any of those in mind, it's totally fine with me! If you didn't, I may have to check a map... XD ))

Yeah, should be interesting having him on the team!

Sorry I took a while to get back to you, by the way. You know how it is; you get lost in Manhatte, a few people get kidnapped, a few more people storm Central Park, and it's just one thing after another until you don't have a minute of time to yourself.

But if you're still up for meeting, I could do with a little space-related conversation. At this point, it would probaby be downright therapeutic.

How about we meet at Seventh Heaven, say, tomorrow afternoon? They at least serve beverages there.

((OOC: That was my apology, as well. ^^; For the same reasons. I am totally up for that thread now! =D I've been hoping to for ages now, so please don't think my lack of contact was a result of disinterest. Is Seventh Heaven okay? I couldn't think of another meeting place. ^^; Let me know when you can!)

Oh yes, never a dull moment in Manhattan. Just when I think it's about to calm down for a bit? I have to dash off and storm Central Park. Storming Central Park does tend to take a lot out of you, doesn't it?

Absolutely. I'm never not up for a little space-related conversation. Particularly when I've been away from space for such an extended period of time, so...therapeutic is really a rather good way to describe it, I've got to admit.

Lovely. I'll see you at Seventh Heaven, then?

((OOC: No worries! :3 That's totally all right, and Seventh Heaven is fine! Looking forward to the thread. Who do you want to start it?))

{grins} Yes, it certainly does.

I'd have to agree with you. Being on earth this long is starting to make me feel claustrophobic!

Great. See you there!

((OOC: I finally posted the thread! =D I backdated it to before the Basilfield incident. Now we can finally get things rolling! WHOO! ^^))
