Bootstraps pov has become quite fun to write in this. He's such a great, conflicted character. And yes, of course Jack would show off. He's more subtle about it when he's older, of course.
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for commenting, and so quickly, too.
My, your muse has been being nice to us this week! If I can prop my eyelids open, I shall endeavor to produce a comment worthy of this delightful story.
18 the heavy red brocade and white lace dress I just had a moment of seeing Elizabeth in a dark red dress. Rather a different kidnapping. At least Letty’s married enough to wear the colour. But the poor thing, to be forced to endure pirates and then falling in love while not in her best looks. What a trial! I’m not sure which is worse!
Filthy mind, has Turner Now Jack, that’s coming it a bit too strong! And doesn’t it take one to know one? Love this little exchange where Letty discovers that pirates kiss and tell. And Jack is so honest, playing all his cards out in the open still-that changes after the mutiny.
As for the little hairdressing scene-where do I sign up for that salon? If Letty is anything like me, she’s a goner. I absolutely melt when anyone does my hair.
He touched the “bit of a nose” lightly with one long finger, which made her blush again.Yep! She’s a goner

You do write such lovely, long, thoughtful comments!

Oh, yes. He has real trust issues after the mutiny. This point alone betrays his youth here.
So happy to've provided a little break for you. More coming soon -- just sent it off to hereswith (who said she'd edit in spite of being on vacation out of town).
Yesterday I thought to myself "I'm bored, I wonder if Geek Mama wrote any more..." Unfortunately, I checked my livejournal a few hours early. But of course, that just means I got to read it today instead. It was much fun :)
I just sent another bit off to be edited -- might be up tomorrow. Trying to write a little faster, now that I have the plot/chapter summaries done. I'm glad you're enjoying the story!

“Oh.”
“Even though I liked it excessively.”
So cute and Jack-ish. And of course he's a show-off.
Bootstrap's protectiveness of Letty is very sweet, especially because he's motivated by his own wife's expectations.

The hair’s not quite so bad today: Are you SURE they're not married? Sounds pretty familiar.
whirlwind of activity designed to show off his strength, agility, skill in leadership, and knowledge: Subtle and understated he's not.
Jack chatting Letty up, escorting her around, Barbossa with that "give me a break" look.
Good work, my dear.

And why should he be? He's (the future) Captain Jack Sparrow, mate!
Glad you enjoyed this, Felaine! Thanks for letting me know.

“Oh!” She reddened further, not least because she felt a most inappropriate urge to say, “I did, too!”
Squee! of course she's falling for Jack, who wouldn't fall for that devilish man with a very nice swagger. Much love
