Such fun! I love the comparison of Jack to the South Wind--not ill but unsettling does describe him. James and Elizabeth's reactions to him are so perfectly in character. So Jack was the one who advised Elizabeth to relight that old fire? Good for him. And of course he'd be kissing the bride with inappropriate enthusiasm! Jack is one big flirt. Of course he's irresistible, and it's hilarious to have the commodore be the one to admit it.
I love Jack pirating wedding gifts from the Dutch East India Company and the speculation on the alternate meanings of VOC. My favourite is Violet ottoman covers. Snork!
Drink up me hearties, indeed. I did enjoy this so much.
Aw, this is just lovely. All three are perfectly in character. I particularly enjoyed >>The Commodore cleared his throat. Or it might have been a growl.<<
Wonderful sweet little insight-vignette. Exquisite, just like the Cognac.

Loved the guessing game. Very Observant Captain? *g*
James and Elizabeth are settling into married life like a Vivaciously Obvious Couple. okay. so that one was a stretch.
